The Four Way Test

Of the things we think, say or do

  1. Is it the TRUTH?
  2. Is it FAIR to all concerned?
  3. Will it build GOODWILL and BETTER FRIENDSHIPS?
  4. Will it be BENEFICIAL to all concerned?

Lochrann's Paddy Dash, Saturday March 13th!

We are working with Lochrann’s Irish Pub & Eatery in Frisco Square to promote a 5k fun run/walk, a 1 mile fun run/walk and a kids’ 50 yard dash to benefit Frisco Family Service Center (FFSC). In keeping with the St. Patrick’s Day weekend theme, this second annual event is named the Lochrann’s Paddy Dash! The event will be held in beautiful Frisco Square on Saturday, March 13th, 2010 on a challenging but scenic course. More than just a run, this event is intended to have something for the whole family. There will be bounce houses for the kids, a silent auction, face painting and a few surprises.

Canine Friendly: Lochrann’s Paddy Dash has partnered with Frisco Dog Park, Inc. Canines that register will receive a gift and know that they helped contribute needed funds as their owners work with the City of Frisco for a place for them to play, a Frisco Dog Park.

In addition to the run, we will also hold a silent auction to raise additional funds for FFSC. We are looking to local businesses, such as yours, to help us raise money by donating items for this auction. This is a great opportunity for your business to gain local exposure, as well as to support a local community organization. We are looking for donated gift certificates (restaurants, grocery stores, clothing, sporting goods), sports event tickets, new gift items, gift baskets (i.e. wine, food, sports fan, children’s, gardening) and donated services (i.e. spa services, teeth whitening, golf lessons, house cleaning, photography).

For more information about the Paddy Dash event, contact Geoffrey Davis at 214-529-9622 or paddydash@friscosunrise.org. Interested in contributing to the Paddy Dash goody bags? Please email goodybags@friscosunrise.org for details! If you are interested in being a part of the 2nd annual Paddy Dash Auction and supporting FFSC, auction@friscosunrise.org

Why do this event and why Frisco Family Services Center as our Beneficiary?

Frisco Family Services (FFS) is a non-profit social service agency committed to providing assistance to individuals and families in need or in crisis. FFS houses the only food pantry in Frisco, offers financial assistance for rent/mortgage and utility payments, provides information and referral services, distributes clothing, furniture, and household items through Frisco Resale, and offers special assistance in providing school supplies, Thanksgiving meals, and holiday gifts for children, parents and senior citizens.  FFS also offers life skill classes, education assistance and employment support to its adult clients and gasoline vouchers.

In 2009, FFS served over 1690 client families, consisting of more than 5300 individuals.  Over 64% of these families were new to FFS, many never before having had a need for social services.  The number of people needing assistance continues to rise, as does the need for support.

It is only through generous contributions and support from the community that enables FFS to assist clients in maintaining or achieving self- sufficiency and also allows FFS the opportunity to improve and expand programs and services.
